This is a short video I made at my very affordable apartment of the kinindate temae. I unfortunately do not yet possess a kettle, nor any tana, so you can see how I substitute for this when I am practicing at home. I really enjoy using a tenmoku tea bowl, although it has been a bit since I’ve practiced kinindate. So although I am accomplished at neither tea nor videography, I hope you, my dear readers, can enjoy.

By the way, the music is first “Thread of Memories” by the shinto group Asuka, followed by a classical gagaku song called “Kanshuu” performed by the Music Department of the Board of Ceremonies of the Imperial Household Agency (Kunaishou Shikibushoku Gakubu). Gagaku music usually fails to appeal to modern and Western ears, but I am rather fond it myself.
